It's important to remember that from 6 months onwards, the consumption of alfalfa hay should be discontinued, as it can cause urinary stones, obesity, or other diseases due to excess protein. Hay consumption should make up 75 to 80% of their diet throughout their life, selecting only the type of hay to offer based on the stage of life our little friend is in.

About 15 to 20% of their diet should consist of fresh or dried green leaves, as they are folivores and need them daily.

Between 5 and 10% should be their daily ration of pellets, which would equal about one tablespoon per day. The most important factor when choosing pellets is that they are of high quality, made with good raw materials, and have appropriate percentages, with a high fibre content between 15% and 20%, low fat between 1% and 3.5%, protein content between 10% and 13%, and low calcium with values between 0.4% and 0.6%. Under no circumstances should their composition contain additives, colourants, or preservatives.

And never forget to provide fresh and clean water, as your little one drinks an average of 5-15 cl per kilogram of body weight daily.
